The mfr. of a car seat cover section uses a section bounding plastic insert, extruded with teeth for joining to the fabric. The insert (1) is first encased in fabric up to the connecting teeth (3), the fabric is bonded to the insert, which is then lenghtened. Its cut ends are butt-welded together to give an encased insert ring, which can be given an unround form in a mould. Then it is HF-welded to the seat, headrest, etc. cover (6). ADVANTAGE - Simple mfr. and pleasant appearance.
