The vibration absorber (1) in a vehicle drive mecahnism consists of a flywheel mass (3) connected to the engine, and a flywheel mass (4) connected to the gearing (7) by means of a coupling. The vibration absorber (1) is positioned between the two flywheel masses (3,4). The friction clutch coupling (6) operates in relation to a further friction coupling (17) which is positioned between the first flywheel mass (3) connected to the engine, and the second flywheel mass (4) which can be coupled and uncoupled to the gear by means fof the clutch (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - The double flywheel in a vehicle is used as a vibration damper and does not produce any noise in the resonance range.
