PURPOSE:To obtain an actuator for enabling high efficiency operation to be performed and enabling a plurality of freedom degrees to be obtained by arranging a plurality of ultrasonic wave oscillators to be excited in a resonant state and for generating almost elliptic oscillation, and connecting bodies for connecting the ultrasonic wave oscillators and movers to each other. CONSTITUTION:When oscillators 11 are excited, then at the edge sections of their oscillating bodies 14a, 14b, almost elliptic oscillation is generated, and a driving force due to the almost elliptic oscillation is transmitted to movers 21a, 21b. Accordingly, the movers 21a, 21b are moved in the specified directions relatively against the oscillators 11. Besides, the almost elliptic oscillation excited by the oscillators 11 is controllable one for forming an arbitrary orbit with the control of AC voltage applied to a first piezoelectric element 12 and a second piezoelectric element. Accordingly, the driving force generated in the moving elements 21a, 21b, and the direction can freely be controlled. |
