<p>PURPOSE:To provide the title method intended for cells to attain to higher density in a short time by a method wherein cells are immobilized in a cell- immobilizing gel together with a solid to increase cell-proliferative space as far as possible for the convenience of the culture. CONSTITUTION:A solid (e.g. collagen beads) and cells are immobilized in a cell-immobilizing gel followed by making a culture of said cells taking advantage of the resultant space. Specifically, when alginic acid is used as the cell- immobilizing gel, the cell and a culture medium suspension of said solid are mixed with an aqueous solution of alginate, and the resultant mixture is dripped into a calcium chloride solution, thereby the gel immobilization of both the cells and the solid can be accomplished.</p> |
