<p>The invention relates to a heat recovery device for closed-hearth chimneys with double or single heating modes. The device (6) is intended to be placed in the pipe for exhaustion of the fumes from the chimney. It comprises a by-pass circuit (17) for exhaustion of the fumes (8) for functioning in the open-hearth heating mode and/or for starting combustion in a closed hearth, and a heat exchanger (9) which transfers some of the calories of the fumes (8) to a secondary circuit (10) of heat-exchanging fluid.
