PURPOSE:To improve the reflectance of the medium by providing an intermediate layer between two metal layers of a reflecting layer and a recording layer and specifying the materials and thicknesses of the reflecting layer, intermediate layer and recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting layer 12 consists of at least one kind of metal selected from Au, Pd, Ag, Pt, Al and Cu with the thickness of 120-230Angstrom , on which the intermediate layer 13 consisting of a high polymer compound with the thickness of 200-600Angstrom is deposited. Further, the recording layer 14 contg. Te and Se with 200-1,600Angstrom thickness is deposited thereon. Informations are written in or read out by irradiating the recording layer with laser light. By this constitution, high reflectance (>=70%) can be obtained. When CD format signals are recorded in this medium, they can be read out with a commercial CD player. |
