PURPOSE:3-Phenylpropylene, which is readily available, is used as a starting compound to effect the reaction with an alkyl nitrite in the presence of an alcohol and a Pd catalyst to produce the titled compound used as an intermediate of agricultural chemicals, medicines or the like. CONSTITUTION:A 3-phenylpropylene which may bear substituents on its benzene ring of the formula (X, Y, Z is H, hydroxyl, halogen, nitro, amino or alkyl, where two of them incorporate with 1 or 2 oxygen atoms to form a heterocyclic ring), which is obtained by extracting a vegetable oil or reaction of benzene or substituted benzene with an allyl halide, is made to react with an alkyl nitrite in an alcohol, preferably the same alcohol as that of the nitrite ester, in the presence of a catalyst of Pd, preferably palladium chloride, to give the titled compound. EFFECT:Unreacting raw materials and the alcohol can be recycled and the NO gas liberated by the reaction is utilized for a production of a nitrite ester. |
