PURPOSE:To improve the transferred heat quantity of a heat pipe and prevent an uneven distribution of wick wires by using small diameter wires with one of cross-sectional shapes other than circle for part or the whole of the wick and providing a wick pressing member for placing the wick tightly in contact with the inner wall of the heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:The cross section of a wick is, for example, rectangular or hexagonal, and its section corresponding to the side has a groove 2 of an unfixed shape. And, if it has preferably a projection with a vertical angle smaller than 150 deg., it is suitable. In the heat pipe vessel 6 one end of which is cut and sealed a porous wick pressing member 5 made of a plate of metal such as copper with many holes pierced through and formed cylindrically is placed inside of the wick. After the wick pressing member 5 has been inserted, the wick is tightly held against the inner wall of the heat pipe vessel by the porous wick pressing member and the inside of the heat pipe is made vacuum and a working fluid such as water is poured into the pipe. Then one end of the heat pipe vessel is cut and sealed to form a micro heat pipe. |
