<p>The invention relates to a fluid journal bearing and more particularly to an improvement of the load capacity and stability of such a bearing. The fluid journal bearing consists of a sleeve 7 and a plurality of bearing subassemblies, each comprising a flexible blade 2, an element reinforcing the blade 2 and a supporting bar 5, the bearing subassemblies being fastened to the sleeve by the insertion of each bar 5 into a groove made in the sleeve. The reinforcing element consists of two stiffeners, an upper stiffener 3 fastened to the bar of one subassembly and a lower stiffener 4 fastened to the bar of an adjacent subassembly, the two stiffeners 3 and 4 being superposed on at least part of one of their faces. The bearing is advantageously equipped with a prestressing spring 6. The bearing is especially useful in turbo-engines, especially when these form part of aeroplanes, more particularly military aircraft. <IMAGE></p> |
