Compounds of structure (I) <CHEM> in which the dotted lines indicate the optional presence of double bonds and, inter alia, R<1> is H, R<2> is H or CH3 and R<3> is H, hydroxy or acetoxy; processes for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in medicine as inhibitors of 5- alpha -reductase.
