PURPOSE:To obtain the subject beads having extremely small particle size without lowering the molecular weight of hyaluronic acid beads by drying spherical hyaluronic acid produced e.g. by dropping an aqueous solution of hyaluronic acid having high molecular weight into a coagulation liquid. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a hyaluronic acid having a molecular weight of 10, 000-7,000,000 or its salt is dropped, extruded or sprayed into a coagulation liquid (preferably a mixture of a water soluble solvent, a specific gravity modifier and an acid and having a specific gravity of 0.7-1.3) and the obtained spherical hyaluronic acid is dried to obtain the objective beads. The specific gravity modifier is preferably a sugar, polyhydric alcohol or organic solvent uniformly soluble in the coagulation liquid. |
