PURPOSE:To prepare a cooling medium capable of maintaining the cooling capacity for a long time by compounding urea, water, an inorg. and/or org. salt which absorbs heat when dissolved in water, and a thickening and gelling agent. CONSTITUTION:Urea, water, an inorg. salt (e.g. ammonium nitrate) and/or an org. salt (e.g. oxalic acid dihydrate) which absorbs heat when dissolved in water, and a thickening and gelling agent selected from the group consisting of a nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene alkyl ether obtd. by addition polymerizing ethylene oxide with a 12-18C satd. alcohol), an anionic surfactant [e.g. a triethanolamine, ammonium or sodium salt of a 12-18C (un)satd. alkyl sulfate or polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulfate], an amphoteric surfactant (e.g. a betaine of formula I or II), a copolymer obtd. by addition polymerizing ethylene oxide and propylene oxide with a polyhydric alcohol and polyoxyethylene hydrogenated lanolin, obtd. by addition polymerizing ethylene oxide with lanolin, are compounded together. |
