<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a noise from being generated and to reduce the power loss by turning on and off the operation of a computer system consisting of CMOS components by turning on and off the operating frequency. CONSTITUTION:When a processing request signal 4 is generated, the output of a holding circuit 6 is inverted to raise a frequency on-off signal 11 to H level. Consequently, a gate circuit 12 is opened and the operating frequency 10 is supplied to the computer system 1 to start processing. Then when the processing is finished, a processing end signal 5 is inputted to the reset terminal R of the holding circuit 6 and the frequency on-off signal 11 falls to L level to close the gate circuit 12, thereby stopping supplying the operating frequency 10. When the processing request is generated like this, the operating frequency is supplied to the computer system 1 and when the processing is finished, the supply is stopped to uniform the power consumption and reduce the total power consumption, thereby eliminating the noise and power loss due to the current variation of a power switching circuit.</p> |
