PURPOSE:To enhance adhesion of a film and to reduce residual potential by forming a first a-SiC layer having a layer region containing NO atomic couples in a content distribution decreasing in the layer thickness upward direction from a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by successively laminating on the conductive substrate 1 made of Al or the like the first a-SiC layer 2 containing an element of group Va in an amount of 500 - 5,000ppm and the NO atomic couples in an amount of 0.01 - 30atomic% and having the layer region containing them in a content distribution decreasing in the layer thickness upward direction from the substrate 1, and the photoconductive second a-SiC layer 3, thus permitting the adhesion of the first a-SiC layer 2 to the substrate 1 to be enhanced and residual potential to be reduced. |
