PURPOSE:To improve the quality of printing by reading the recording density of a thermal head immediately after recording by the thermal head, estimating the quantity of heat accumulated to the head while referring to a table having the relationship of the recording density, applying energy and the quantity of heat accumulated to the head and controlling applying energy. CONSTITUTION:The monochro-density data D of an original picture is written to a frame memory 21. The data of the frame memory 21 is written to a frame memory 22 as it is through a pulse width setting section 23 for the first time, and recorded onto thermosensible paper 26 by a head 25. The picture recorded is read by a CCD scanner 24, and the reading data of the CCD scanner 24 is input to the pulse with setting section 23. The pulse width setting section 23 controls the frame memory 22 so as to increase the value of the frame memory 22 when the output value of the CCD scanner 24 is made smaller than the value of the frame memory 21 and reduce the value of the frame memory 22 when the output value of the CCD scanner 24 is made larger than the value of the frame memory 21 at that time, and applying energy fed to the head is controlled on the basis of a table displaying the relationship of recording density, applying energy and the quantity of heat accumulated in the head at the same time as the control. |
