PURPOSE:To prevent a printing without notice of the breakage of a pin by providing a pressure sensor for checking the breakage of a printing head out of the printing area of a printer. CONSTITUTION:A pressure sensor 1 for checking the breakage of a pin of a printing head is provided out of a printing area at the left end of a platen 5. A printing head 2 is moved to the front of the pressure sensor 1 at the time of start of printing, the pin of the printing head 1 is pressed to the pressure sensor 1 at each one pin to check the breakage of the pin, and a signal is fed to a controller 3. The controller 3 recognizes the breakage of any pin by the signal and displays it on a display unit 4. |
