PURPOSE:To reproduce intermediate colors in a short time by a simple method by controlling selectively the output of an electrostatic recharging means which performs the 2nd and succeeding charging processes, and recharging a specific area on an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic charging, an image exposing, and a developing process are repeated plural times to form a polychromatic recording image on the image carrier 1. For this purpose, the output of the recharging means 7 which performs the 2nd and succeeding charging processes is controlled selectively to recharge only the specific area on the carrier 1. Consequently, monochromatic recording images and their mixed-color recording images are formed selectively by performing the developing process plural times to reproduce intermediate colors in a short time. |
