The apparatus for displaying characters of line-is- busy comprises a first step for calling Modem on the other end of line, a second step for applying carrier from other party through a trans-former (T) and a comparator (CP2) of a hybrid circuit (4) so that the carrier appeares on an energy detecting terminal when the carrier is line-is- busy signal, and a third step for transmitting line busy signal and atate variation signal of the energy detecting terminal to main cormputer through a NAND gate (N1) when a certain line-is- busy signal is recognized by a micro-computer so that characters of line- is- busy displayed on a monitor.
