PURPOSE:To provide superior exhaust gas collection power and purifying power and eliminate adverse effect to combustion section by providing a number of communicating holes on a side wall, blocking one side end section and making open areas of said communicating holes, smaller on the blocked side end and larger on the open side. CONSTITUTION:A number of communicating holes 2, 2' are provided on a side wall of a cylindrical catalyst 1 with one side end section blocked, and opening area of said communicating holes are made smaller on said blocking side end and larger on the open side. The open side end of the cylindrical catalyst 1 is disposed opposite to the outflow direction of exhaust gas of a combustion cylinder 7. As a result, superior exhaust gas collection power and purifying power are provided without affecting the combustion section. |
