PURPOSE:To improve productivity, to reduce the cost and to achieve good image recording at all times by specifying the type of an image data output unit to be connected at a setting section thereby determining the order for forming toner images of different colors on an image forming body. CONSTITUTION:Different type of image data output units 200 are connected through an information transfer joint 300 then the type of the connected image data output unit 200 is specified at a specifying section and the specified information is inputted to a control section. A control section sets a sequence for carrying out dot image exposure through an image exposing means based on the specified information and the type of the image data output unit 200 and controls the operational sequence of developing means 5y, 5m, 5c, 5b. By such arrangement, a good color image can be recorded on a recording material regardless of the type of the image data output unit 200 connected with a color image recording unit 100. |
