PURPOSE:To provide an aqueous microbicidal composition exhibiting a highly excellent microbicidal activity and capable carrying out the sterilization, disinbection and cleansing of a livestock barn, etc., at once by combining a quaternary ammonium salt with a hypochlorite and a protonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A quaternary ammonium salt of the formula (R1 is 3-18C hydrocarbon which may be intervened with O; R2 and R3 are 1-5C alkyl; R4 is 1-18C alkyl or aralkyl; X<-> is halogenide ion or mineral acid ion) (e.g. benzalkonium chloride) is mixed with a hydrochlorite (especially preferably sodium hypochlorite) and a protonic acid (especially preferably hydrochloric acid or dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid) to provide an aqueous microbicidal composition. The concentrations of the quaternary ammonium salt, the hypochlaric acid and the protonic acid are preferably 20-2000ppm, approximately 1-200ppm and 5-20 times that of the hypochlorite, respectively. |
