PURPOSE:To easily produce a sensitive body having an electric charge generating layer of a desired material and ensuring high sensitivity at a low cost by dispersing or dissolving powder of a hydrophobic substance in an aq. medium with a specified surfactant and supplying electric current to the resulting dispersion liq. or soln. with Al as the cathode. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a hydrophobic substance of <=10mum average particle size advantageous to an electric charge generating substance is dispersed or dissolved in an aq. medium with a surfactant having 10.0-20.0 HLB and other than ferrocene derivs. The surfactant used may be polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, polyoxyethylene fatty acid ester, polyoxyethylene alkyl phenyl ether, alkyltrimethylammonium chloride or fatty acid diethylaminoethylamide. Electric current is supplied to the resulting dispersion liq. or soln. with an Al electrode as the cathode to form a thin film of the hydrophobic substance on the electrode. An electrophotographic photosensitive body having an Al substrate can be efficiently produced. |
