PREPARATION AND USE OF NITROGEN OXIDE REMOVING CATALYST

PURPOSE:To prepare a stabilized nitrogen oxide removing catalyst by ion exchange treating zeolite having given lattice distance (d) value obtained by powder X-ray diffraction in water solution containing two kinds or more of transition element ions and ammonia. CONSTITUTION:Ion exchange treatment is carried out for zeolite having a lattice distance (d) value obtained by powder X-ray diffraction shown by the table 1 in water solution containing two kinds or more transition element ions and ammonia. Then, the same is solid-liquid separated and then dried to prepare a nitrogen oxide removing catalyst. It is suitable to adjust PH of slurry containing zeolite to 4-12 when ion exchange is carried out and also to use copper ion and rare earth element ion as transition element ions. A catalyst thus prepared is provided with superior NOx decomposition activity as the catalyst to remove NOx out of the hydogen oxide containing gas.
