This device makes it possible to entrain a carriage 1 which can move in translation over a predetermined path and to supply the same carriage with pneumatic or hydraulic fluid and/or with electricity. The carriage 1 is supplied by a flexible element 4 such as a conduit, cable or wire starting from a fixed point 3 in order to form a first strand 4a, then diverted over a return pulley 5 carried by an auxiliary carriage 6 and forming from that point a second strand 4b ending at the carriage 1 to be supplied. The auxiliary carriage 6 forms part of an entrainment reeving (pulley block) 7 to 10, such that the length of displacement of this auxiliary carriage is equal to half the length of displacement of the carriage 1 to be supplied. Applications: apparatuses for lifting and handling, and diverse machines, for example weaving looms. <IMAGE>
