PURPOSE:To surely perform starting lighting even in a high-frequency lighting type device by connecting a diode for current pause time protection in series to a both directional two-terminal SCR in a pulse generation circuit of a starter circuit part. CONSTITUTION:A DC is inputted in an inverter 114 to be oscillated above 40kHz. Capacity CS for breakover of a both directional tow-terminal SCRSD is charged by a half-wave through a charging circuit 122. The SD is ignited with breakover voltage. Charge of CS is LC-oscillated through a diode DS2 for current pause time protection, SD and a part of a coil S1 to give starting pulse voltage of the coil L1 to a discharge lamp 116. At this time, a pulse oscillation wave DS2 cuts the half-wave and SD sufficiently obtains a time under an ON holding current while SD is arc-extinguished. It is repeated until the discharge lamp 116 is starting-lighted. In this way, even in case of a high-frequency lighting type above 40kHz, SD can be surely put in an OFF state so that starting lighting can be assured. |
