START CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prevent engine stop in turning on a clutch by offsetting a desired stroke valve with correction data according to a difference between the desired stroke value of a clutch and an actual stroke value when a condition yielding to an engine is dissolved. CONSTITUTION:A desired stroke value of a clutch 2 is obtained from a signal of an accelerator sensor 3 by a calculating means 5, while an actual stroke value of the clutch 2 is detected by a stroke sensor 4 and a correction data determining means 9 determines the correction data corresponding to a difference between the desired stroke value and the actual stroke value when a condition of yielding to an engine is judged to be dissolved by a judging means 8. An offsetting means 6 offsets the desired stroke value on the basis of the correction data to control the stroke of the clutch 2 through a drive unit 7. Thus, engine stop in turning on the clutch is effectively prevented while a satisfactory running feeling can be obtained in starting.
