PURPOSE:To accomplish cultivation while maintaining the water and air contents at optimum levels for raising seedling respectively, by allowing a nutritive solution to flow down from the higher side of a cultivating mat toward its lower side, and then positively guiding downward taking advantage of the capillary action of a suction mat with head to effect discharge. CONSTITUTION:A raising seedling pot 12 planted with a crop 11 is mounted on a cultivating mat 2 made of artificial fiber-like inorganic-organic matter and a cover is laid thereon to fix the pot 12, and then a nutritive solution is fed to the mat 2 as the case may be. Said solution is thus diffused into the mat 2 taking advantage of the capillary action of said mat 2, while excessive amount of the solution is moved, through its gravitational force, to the lower part of the mat 2 and allowed to flow down along the surface of a water-permeable sheet 4 such as of nonwoven fabric at the tilt bottom. Subsequently, the solution is positively guided downward taking advantage of the capillary action of a suction mat 3 made of the same material as that for the mat 2 with head, effecting discharge. And through the inducing action of said solution, the nutritive solution diffused into the mat 2 is gradually dehydrated, whereas air is put to suction through the surface of the mat 2, thus increasing the air content of the mat 2 to an optimum level, 25-30%. |
