MANUFACTURE OF OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR

PURPOSE:To manufacture a bulky oxide superconductor of high Jc and current capacity by providing the desired number of grooves in a substrate, filling a raw material in the grooves and then subjecting the substrate to a heating and sintering process under pressure. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is provided with a groove 2 for filling a raw material 3 and then the groove 2 is filled with the material 3. As a method for filling the raw material 3 in the groove 2, the powder of the raw material 3 is kneaded with a binder and formed into paste state for filling in the groove 2. The substrate 1 filled with the raw material 3 is sheathed with a cover material 4 whenever necessary and heated to a temperature equal to or above sintering temperature under pressure equal to or above 10kg/cm<2> from a press 5. Also, the desired number of the substrates 1 filled with the raw material 3 in the groove 2 are laminated on each other with the raw material 5 connected in a superconducting way and subjected to a heating and sintering process under pressure.
