PURPOSE:To improve the assembly performance by arranging the upper and lower balancer shafts onto the upper and lower sides from a fitting surface and constituting the lower balancer shaft from a supporting shaft and a balancer body supported by the supporting shaft and fixing a positioning member for positioning the balancer body in the axial direction onto the upper case. CONSTITUTION:In the assembly of a balancer shaft, a crankshaft 13 and a rotary shaft 22 are installed onto an upper case 14 having a fitting surface 14a upward, and the both shafts are connected through a transmission chain 23. Further, the balancer body 32 of a lower balancer shaft 30 is position- adiusted so that an angular state is generated for the crankshaft 13, and a positioning plate 34 (positioning member) is engaged with the balancer body 32, and the plate 34 is fixed onto the upper case 14. Thus, the lower balancer shaft 30 is held onto the upper case 14. Then, necessary parts are assembled onto a lower case 15 having the fitting surface upward, and the case 14 is fixed onto the case 15. Finally, an upper balancer shaft 27 is installed on the case 14 through the angular positioning so that a prescribed angular state is provided for the crankshaft 13. |
