PURPOSE:To effectively restrain a parasitic oscillation so as to improve a laser device in efficiency by a method wherein a shielding means provided width an opening which is equal to the vertical cross section of an incident and a projecting end is provided on a position which is close to an incident and a projecting end of laser beams and between a slab type laser element and a high reflection mirror and an output mirror. CONSTITUTION:A shielding means has just only a function to shut off a parasitic oscillation ray reflected from a mirror and an opening substantially equal to the vertical cross section of an incident and a projecting end. That is, the parasitic oscillation light has the same polarized light component as a normal oscillation light but its optical path deviates, so that it is projected deviating from an optical path of a normal beam usually by 4-8 degrees and reflected by a mirror at the same angle. The shielding means is arranged between a slab type laser element and a high reflection mirror and an output mirror, but it is desirable that the shielding means is provided as close to the incident and the projecting end of the slab as possible. |
