The specimen is weighed by a weighing device which passes a wt. proportional electrical signal to an electronic control and evaluation unit. The latter computes the relative moisture content of the specimen by extrapolation from measurement values taken at time intervals during heating of the specimen. The control and evaluation unit derives an average value for the relative moisture content and additionally the measurment time required to determine the relative moisture content with a prederfined accuracy. The unit extrapolates each two measurement values using a decaying exponential fuction to determine the relative moisture content. ADVANTAGE - Enables relative moisture content of specimens to be accurately measured in relatively short times even under construction site conditions.
