A device with a shank and a cutting-tip receptacle for holding cutting tips in cutting tools is to be simplified and improved in terms of manufacture. This is achieved by the cutting-tip receptacle (3) being formed as a tip seat impressed by a punch (4) of a sinking tool. <IMAGE>
