PURPOSE:To make the length of a communicating chamber in the direction of an intake flow longer to improve the characteristics of atomization in an engine whose each intake passage connected to three intake valves provided per cylinder is made to mutually communicate through a communicating chamber by positioning an edge part of the side of the communicating chamber of a partition wall between the intake passages on the side of a cylinder center line. CONSTITUTION:In an engine whose cylinder head 12 is allocatedly provided per cylinder with two exhaust valves 18 and three intake valves 20 (20a-20c) which are opened and closed by two overhead cam shaft type valve systems, the first and the second intake passage 40a, 40b are formed in an intake pipe 38 of each cylinder, and the downstream side of the passages 40a, 40b is connected to a communicating chamber 46 provided in the cylinder head 12, and the communicating chamber 46 is made to communicate with the each intake valve 20 through each intake passage 47 (47a-47c). In this case, partition walls 50a, 50b between the three intake passages 47 are formed so that edge parts 52a, 52b on the side of the communicating chamber 46 may be positioned aside by gamma from the inner face beta of the cylinder toward the side alpha of a cylinder center line in the case of sight in the direction of a cam shaft (the direction of a cylinder bank). |
