A wrapping machine includes control means for the control of wrapper transport in dependence on the feed of articles, e.g. sweets to be wrapped, the control means comprising two cam 2, 3 with equal cam tracks which are mounted, displaced through 180 DEG relative to each other, on a shaft 4 rotatably driven at half the speed of the machine. Cam roller levers 5, 6 are pivoted out of phase by the cams and at their free ends have abutment surfaces 8, 9 which are disposed opposite to and at a spacing A from contact surfaces 10, 11 of a pivotable lifting-off lever 12 in the whole range of movement of levers 5 and 6. Setting devices 15, 16 having displaceable shims 17, 18 are arranged at both sides of the lifting-off lever 12, each shim being movable between the associated abutment and contact surfaces, in response to mechanical or electrical detection of an interruption in the article feed, so that the respective follower lever can pivot the lifting-off lever and thereby interrupt wrapper transport by transport rollers (13, 14), the minimum spacing A of respective levers 5 or 6 from contact surface 10 or 11 being less than the thickness of each shim. <IMAGE>
