PURPOSE:To enable dry type processing, and to obtain a sharp color image through a simple processing by forming an imagewise distribution of a specified sublimable dyeor its precurs or by using a color donor, and thermotransferring this imagewise distribution on an image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermodevelopable photosensitive material contg. a nonthermodiffusible color toner capable of releasing a sublimable dye or its precursor by thermodevelopment, a binder, and an org. silver salt is imagewise exposed and thermodeveloped to form the image-wise distribution of said dye or its precursor from this color donor. At least a part of this imagewise distribution is thermotransferred to an image receiving layer having lamination relation to said photosensitive material by the color thermodevelopment diffusion transfer method. At that time, said sublimable dye or its precursor is selected so as to have the following sublimability: In the JIS L 0850 drying test, the test is carried out for 20sec at the temp. of the test B, and said dye or its precursor remaining in the water-soluble polyvinyl-butyral needs to be <=7.2X10<-4>mol/m<2>. |
