A description is given of a method of adhesively bonding parts to be joined of rubber or plastic, in particular for shoe soles, in which a laser beam (100) is passed over the parts to be joined (1) and in which the removal of the adhesion-inhibiting outer boundary layer, adhering to the parts to be joined (1), is effected by the thermal energy applied by the laser beam (100), and in which the adhesion between the part to be joined (1) and an adhesive applied to the part to be joined (1) is increased by chemical reactions induced by the laser beam (100) in the reaction layer and the inner boundary layer of the part to be joined (1).
