A description is given of a device for securing a door (1) on a dishwashing machine, having a frame surrounding the edge (5) of the door (1). To provide pressure compensation in the event of sudden expansion of the air vapour mixture and at the same time to avoid undesired escape of relatively large quantities of energy due to water vapour flowing out, it is envisaged according to the invention that an indentation (6-8) is made on the edge (5) of the door (1) and that a closing part (10) is held in a resiliently (11) prestressed manner on the frame and can be introduced into the indentation (6-8) in the edge (5) upon closure of the door (1). <IMAGE>
