In the case of an extractor hood with a displaceably guided vapour extension for installation in a kitchen upper cupboard with or without light strip or the like provided on the underside of the cupboard, the vapour extension of the hood is fixed to the upper cupboard in such a way that it can pivot behind the light strip, the door elongation or directly into the upper cupboard. By means of such a measure, there is advantageously the possibility of installing the extractor hood in a kitchen wall-unit system without thereby interrupting the line of the upper cupboards. For operation, the extractor hood is constructed in such a way that its vapour extension can pivot out of the upper cupboard, so that the vapour extension can be drawn forwards to increase the extraction area.
