<p>PURPOSE: To improve flexibility of an operation by incorporating a means for inputting data for managing characteristics of a printed mark and arranging the means for inputting the data to function even without using an alphanumeric keyboard, thereby eliminating an integral keyboard for inputting the data. CONSTITUTION: A hand grip printer 1 has a housing 2, and a handle 3 extended from one end of the housing. A track ball 5 and a graphic display 6 are disposed on an upper surface 4 of the housing. The tall is operated to move a marker 7 through a menu 8. When one of items listed in the menu is selected, an item displayed on a subdisplay 8 is detected. When a suitable subdisplay 9 is disposed, the marker 7 is moved via an operation of the ball 5 to indicate the selected item. Thus, the item is selected to provide inputting to an automatic inventory control system.</p> |
