摘要 PURPOSE:To always sure the proper quantity of EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) by adjusting the target opening of a EGR control valve so that deviation between the target and actual values of a EGR rate may stay within the allowable range of the error of the EGR rate corresponding to the operation state of an internal combustion engine to compensate the error of the quantity of EGR. CONSTITUTION:When the rate of the quantity of exhaust recirculation determined by a means M5 for the intake air quantity of an internal combustion engine M1 is regarded as a EGR rate, a means M7 computes a target EGR rate on the basis of the operation state detected by a means M2 of the engine M1. A means M8 computes an actual EGR rate on the basis of the operation state, and a means M9 computes deviation between the target and actual values of the EGR rate. In addition to that, a means 10 stores the allowable range of the error of the EGR rate at a control valve 4 arranged on an exhaust recirculation route M3, and a means 11 establishes learning value which is updated and recorded according to the result of comparison between the above allowable range and the above-mentioned deviation. A means M12 corrects a target opening computed by a means 6 according to the established learning value.
