PURPOSE:To make it possible to distinguish and detect solid, water and oil by providing a plurality of sensor parts comprising a solid detecting part, a liquid detecting part and an oil detecting part in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:At first, a light signal is outputted from an electricity/light transducer 8 and inputted into optical fibers 1 at each sensor part S of a solid detecting part 13, a liquid detecting part 14 and an oil detecting part 15 through a directional coupler 9. The light signal is transmitted through the optical fiber 1. When a specimen is attached to the sensor part S, part of the light signal is not transmitted at the point, and a transmission loss is generated. Therefore, the reflected light which is transmitted from each detecting part 4 of the sensor part S as the backward scattered light is converted into the electric signal through a light/electricity transducer 10. The electric signal is amplified in an amplifier 11 and processed in an averaging circuit 12. The result is visually observed through a CRT 7 or processed in a computer. Thus the amount of fluctuation in transmission at each detecting point 4 is measured, and the specimen which is attached to each sensor part S is distinguished as solid, water or oil and can be detected as quality. |
