PURPOSE:To tilt a steering wheel to the right or the left at the angle for easy operation by judging the operation state with a controller based on signals from a car speed detecting device and a steering angle detecting device and sending operation commands to an actuator. CONSTITUTION:Hydraulic cylinders 8 tilting a steering shaft 1 to the right or the left are provided on both sides of a tilt mechanism section 2, and ends of a rod 10 are connected to tips of movable sections 8a via ball joints 9. A controller 14 compares the steering angle signal from a steering angle detecting device 16 with the reference angle, it issues a command to maintain the initial state to the hydraulic cylinders 8 when the steering angle signal is smaller than the reference angle, and it compares the car speed signal from a car speed detecting device 15 with the reference speed when the steering angle signal is larger than the reference angle. The controller 14 issues the signal to tilt the steering shaft 1 in the opposite direction to the turning direction of the vehicle to the hydraulic cylinders 8 when the car speed signal is smaller than the reference speed, and it issues the signal to tilt in the same direction as the turning direction of the vehicle when the car speed signal is larger than the reference signal. |
