Step-ladder foot extension - has separate guide for adjustable foot-rail secured to ladder upright

The ladder-foot extension is particularly for a stepladder (1), from which safety supports (7) swing out sideways. An adjustable foot-rail (16) outside a ladder upright (3, 4) extends in the lengthwise direciton of the latter, and slides in this direction, being lockable to the upright. A guide member (15) separate from the upright accommodates the rail, and has a connecting plate (14) fixed to it, bearing against and secured to the upright. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple and compact ladder foot extension is easily fitted to a wide range of existing ladders.
