PURPOSE:To obtain homogeneous paste and enhance the producibility by adding water or ice at specified temp. to lead powder chiefly containing lead and lead oxide, dripping dilute sulfuric acid at a specified temp., and by kneading to turn it into paste. CONSTITUTION:150l water cooled to 3-5 deg.C is added to lead powder chiefly containing lead and lead oxide followed by kneading, and 90l dilute sulfuric acid with a specific gravity of 1.30 (20 deg.C converted) cooled at -30 deg.C is dripped thereover followed by kneading to yield an active substance paste for a lead acid battery. This method sinks the temps. of the lead powder and inside of kneading machine, and the reaction speed of lead oxide with sulfuric acid is sunk to prevent abrupt temp. rise during knead. This decreases evaporation of water in the paste, and the temp. of the paste itself is sunk to enable continuous production of homogeneous paste. |
