PURPOSE:To replace ion exchange resin bit by bit without providing a barrier such as a filter membrane in a vertical cylinder by cutting an ion exchange resin layer housed in the cylinder by water jetted from the nozzles and allowing only the ion exchange resin of the lower part to flow out together with the water flow through a lower resin port. CONSTITUTION:Ion exchange resin is laminated and housed in a vertical cylindrical body 11. Further the upper and lower ends of the cylindrical body 11 are provided with the upper and lower liquid passage ports 12, 13 wherein the port ends are covered by a filter and liquid is passed therethrough without passing ion exchange resin and with the upper and lower resin ports 14, 15 for allowing ion exchange resin to flow together with water flow. Furthermore many nozzles 16 are provided along the circumferential face positioned in the intermediate height of the cylindrical body 11. Thereby water is injected toward the inner part and the ion exchange resin layer is cut by this water flow and only the ion exchange resin of the lower part is allowed to flow out together with the water flow through the lower resin port 15. As a result, resin is replaced bit by bit without thoroughly providing a barrier such as a filter membrane in the cylindrical body. |
