A kidney growth accelerator which is based on the discovery that an iso derivative of luteinizing hormone has an activity of accelerating kidney growth. It has not heretofore been known that luteinizing hormon or its iso derivative possesses a kidney growth accelerating activity. It is expected that a kidney suffering reduction in cell number or in function can be activated by administering the iso derivative of luteinizing hormone.
