PURPOSE:To make it possible to cool rotary machines effectively by making the bearing brackets of rotary machines contact rightly on to the inner face of the bottom wall section of a chamber and at the same time cooling the bottom wall section. CONSTITUTION:Bearing brackets 41 that are excellent in heat conduction are fastened with bolts on the upper face of a machine setting trestle 21 in a chamber 25. Bearings 44 are fixed in the concave sections 43 that are provided on the upper faces of the bearing brackets. The rotating side of the bearing 44 is connected to the lower end section 49 of the rotating body 48 of vertical type rotary machines 22a-22c through the shaft 47. Cooling water supply pipes 65 and 66 are provided at the positions that correspond to the positions where a heat conducting board 61 is fixed by the outer peripheral face of the machine setting trestle 21 of the low pressure chamber and the outer peripheral face of the side wall member 23. With this arangement vertical type rotary machines can be effectively cooled without losing the advantage of setting machines inside of the chamber.
