PURPOSE:To enable the setting of a small cutting quantity exceeding a resolving power by a simple mechanism by moving a tool or the material to be cut by having an angle for the tool cutting direction so as to become a cutting quantity smaller than the movement of the tool or the material to be cut. CONSTITUTION:A small cutting device is composed of a swing mechanism 6 adjusting the angle a for a tool 5, tool post 2, a slide type tool post 7 and small cutting device base 2. In case of setting being made so that a cutting direction B makes the angle of theta for the moving direction A of the tool t, DELTAt tcostheta becomes with the cutting amt. being taken as DELTAt for the min. movement set amt. (t) of a machine tool and if theta is taken larger, a small cutting DELTAt is easily enabled. The moving straight line of the tool cutting edge center is moved in parallel from the original position and a small cutting is enabled by having the adjusting function of the inclined angle of the tool by the swing mechanism 6 further and having angles on the moving direction A and cutting direction B of the tool. |
