<p>A light emitting apparatus for use in a non-impact printer is disclosed, the apparatus comprising a substrate 6 having an upper surface 11 and a reflecting surface 8 continuous with the upper surface 11. Parallel wires Wnm and a common wire 4 are provided on the surface 11, the wires being so provided to be connectable with wires provided on an underside surface of a chip Cm. The chip Cm includes a plurality of light emitting elements disposed on its lower surface so as to provide an emitting portion 2. In use, light emitted by said light emitting element is directed towards reflecting surface 8 which reflects light so that it emerges parallel to the upper surface 11. <IMAGE></p> |
