PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a roll and burning and entwinding to the roll surface by providing the specific substrate plating layer having the specific thickness and the specific surface plating layer having the specific thickness on the circumferential face of the roll barrel part. CONSTITUTION:In the cooling roll, the electroplasting layer of Ni 6 is formed on the circumferential face of the barrel part of the copper or copper alloy-made cooling roll body 5 and on this Ni plating layer 6, binary alloy plating layer 7 composed of Ni and W is applied. On this Ni-W alloy plating layer 7, ternary alloy plating layer 8 composed of Ni, W and Fe is applied to make the substrate plating layer having 0.1-0.4mm thickness. Further, the surface plating layer 9 composed of Cr plating and having 0.01-0.03mm thickness, is provided. By this method, the deformation of the roll and the burning and entwinding to the roll surface are not developed and surface roughness and wear of the roll are little, and surface crack is not developed. |
